Jamie Matthews Ceramics
A Pittsburgh native and MCG alum, Jamie Matthews studied at CCAC then earned a BFA at Kent State University and a MFA at the University of Massachusetts at South Dartmouth. He has a wide range of experience in studio and industrial ceramics production. His own work incorporates carved and painted imagery on wheel-thrown and sculptural forms.
Michelle McGraw Design Arts
A graduate of Pittsburgh Schenley high school and MCG alum, Michelle McGraw recently earned her BFA from Carlow College in May 2007. During her studies at Carlow, Michelle began focusing on the interconnections between conversation, body language and music through her artwork. Developing this theory for almost three years now, Michelle uses elements of design to convey these various parts of our everyday lives and create a sense of movement and three-dimensionality through a 2D medium. Michelle’s work has been exhibited in a variety of settings including Carlow student exhibitions and, most recently, as part of “Altered Perceptions” at the Harrison Café in Aspinwall.
Germaine Watkins Photography
A veteran of MCG’s photography staff, Germaine Watkins is also a Guild alumnus. After attending the prestigious Governor's School for the Arts he earned a bachelor's degree in Media Communications from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Germaine's work has been featured in the Pittsburgh Black Photographers’ Group, Urban League National Convention, Shadow Lounge, Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum, Pittsburgh Regional Showcase, Pittsburgh Three Rivers Arts Festivals and MCG Staff Exhibitions.
Jill Wiggins Digital Arts
A local fimmaker whose personal work leans toward documentary and video art, Jill Wiggins work has shown most recently at Film Kitchen as a finalist in their annual contest. Jill has been teaching digital arts at Manchester Craftsmen's Guild for 4 years and absolutely LOVES what she does. |
