  After-school Apprenticeship Training Program

SPRING 2009 AFTERSCHOOL ART CLASSES FOR TEENS BEGIN APRIL 13
Enrollment for the Spring term will be held April 1–3, 2009 for classes that run April 13 – June 5.

Please note: In order to participate in MCG Youth's after-school studio activities at any time, every student and their parent/guardian must complete and submit all necessary paperwork to Student Services before he/she can enter the studio.

You are required to attend one of these sessions to be eligible for admission. Spaces fill quickly so come early! Courses are free for all high school age teens. Admission priority is given to Pittsburgh Public School students and then is handled on a first come, first serve basis for up to two classes. Non-PPS students as well as those interested in taking more than two classes are encouraged to sign-up on a waitlist and will be notified when space becomes available.

Get a head start on the process:
Download the forms requiring a Parent/Guardian signature, then complete and bring them to enrollment!

For information about enrollment, please contact Anne Kindseth, Student Services Specialist, at 412-322-1773 Ext. 301.

Manchester Craftsmen's Guild's nationally recognized after-school arts program for high school students has been designed to educate and inspire any young person who has an interest in the arts and creative self-expression. Each of the many and varied studio courses and workshops offer great opportunities for skill development, critical thinking, experiential learning and preparation for careers and higher education. Individualized mentoring, portfolio development, educational travel, service learning and scholarship opportunities round out the MCG experience.

All of MCG's after-school programs are offered free to area high school students. Courses are regularly scheduled to run weekdays from 3–5:30 p.m., but some exceptions do occur. Transportation via yellow bus is provided from select Pittsburgh Public High Schools Monday through Friday. Students may also access free transportation tickets for use on public busses. At the conclusion of the day, students are taken by bus to downtown Pittsburgh and use transportation tickets to ride city busses to their various neighborhoods.

Ceramics, Digital Arts, Design Arts, and Photography are included in the Apprenticeship Training Program.
