Stronger Together: Intermediate Wheel Throwing
8 week course
Mondays, December 5 – February 13
Create pots that fit together like “peas in a pod.” This course will explore form and concentrate on how forms fit together, work together and look together. Students will throw functional pots which fit together aesthetically or stylistically. Students must be able to throw an 8” cylinder to be admitted into the class.
Whistle Blower
3 week course
Tuesdays, December 6 – December 20
Toot your own horn! Create a clay whistle! This course is a great fast-paced introduction to the MCG ceramics students. Open to all students, but great for beginners.
Tile Tales
7 week course
Tuesdays, January 3 – February 14
Can you tell a story without words? Then this course is for you. Learn the clay process to tell a story of your choice in a tile mural. Great for beginners or advanced students.
Handbuilt Lamps
10 week course
Wednesdays, December 7 – February 15
Light up your life. Create a functioning lamp using hand-building techniques of coil, pinch, and slab. Designs can be traditional or out of the ordinary…it’s up to you. Open to all students.
Pots with a Purpose
10 week course
Thursdays, December 8 – February 16
If you can use it, you can make it. In this class you will explore hand-building techniques to create forms that are linked to a specific function out of slabs and extrusions. A bowl for rice. A platter for turkey. A planter for flowers. Whatever you can think of. Open to all students.
Rebecca Hutchinson Workshop
February 10, 11
What you see isn’t necessarily what you get. Change the way you view ceramics – push the limits of clay. Spend three days exploring unusual clay processes with Rebecca Hutchinson, a visiting artist whose work will be displayed in the Gallery. Open to all students
