Surreal Digital Montage

Imagine a tree growing out of your hand. Or a thousand bunnies riding bicycles around a giant hot-dog. The possibilities are endless. Combine traditional photographic techniques with Adobe Photoshop to create digital photo montages that range from dreamy to magical, fantastic to funny. Open to all students.

Morph It Up: Surreal Image Animations
10 week course
Tuesdays, December 6 – February 14
A mystery wrapped in a puzzle. That’s what you’ll get as you compile, edit, and reformat realistic images in Adobe Photoshop and then use Macromedia Flash to animate surreal transitions that morph and mutate into new forms. Add sound effects to enhance your imagery! Open to all students.

Avant-Garde Video
10 week course
Wednesdays, December 7 – February 15
Avant-garde = Experiment. That is exactly what you’ll do with video in this class. Learn to create silhouettes, add them to music you produce, introduce special effects, and you’ve got a video with endless possibilities. No music or video experience necessary. Open to all students.

Serve Hot – Marketing Pitch
10 week course
Wednesdays, December 7 – February 15
Dreaming of a career in commercial art? Talent and good ideas alone won’t land you a job in this field. Teamwork and marketing skills are key to success. In this course, you and your classmates will jointly make a marketing pitch to Bill Strickland, founder and president of Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild. Your goal will be to convince him to publish a brochure your team will have designed to promote the Guild using food shots created by students in a previous MCG course, Recipe for Success. You’ll get additional help from design and advertising professionals throughout the process. Open to all students.

Digital Portfolio Design

No matter what you choose to pursue in life, you will want to have a way to show your talents to schools, prospective employers, and clients (not to mention friends and family). Learn how to design and develop a web site to represent you. Open to all students
