  Photography Winter 05-06 Classes

LIGHTS, Camera, Magic
Instructor: Carmen Council
8 weeks: Tuesdays, February 6 - March 27
Lighting is the basis of photography so learn how to make it work for you. This course will be an in-depth look at light and how we can use and manipulate it to add to the imagery that we produce. We will experiment with using gels, painting with light, different lighting setups, and working with projectors. Portraits, still life, and found imagery the possibilities are endless with great light! Open to all students.

The Shooting Spirit
Instructors: Germaine Watkins
8 weeks: Wednesdays, February 7 th - March 28
This course will be in conjunction with the upcoming visiting artist Linda Connor. She is a photographic artist who documents sacred places and people. Although her most recent work deals with landscapes, she also has a series of work that includes images of churches. For this course, we will be focusing on images of places that have spiritual meaning. This will include actual buildings, their interiors and environment. Open to all students.

How Funky is Your Chicken? Surrealism and Photography
Instructors: Natalie Tranelli and Dror Yaron
8 weeks -16 classes: Thursdays & Fridays, February 8 th - March 30
Squash your face onto a scanner, invite a blue giraffe for a dinner on the ceiling. In this course you'll be able to design your own special effects and capture your craziest, funkiest imaginations on film. You'll be planning and building your own sets, and practicing multiple exposure techniques. Learn some advanced darkroom or Adobe Photoshop tricks that will help bring your ideas to life. Prerequisites - Basic camera and darkroom knowledge.
