Silkscreen Apparels
Mondays, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., April 26 - June 14 (7 classes)
Teaching Artists: Justin Mazzei and Keith Hershberger

Once you know the basic screen-printing process, your possibilities for creating customized apparel are endless! Join us in MCG’s design studio to become a master of our brand new screen-printing equipment. Manipulate single-ink “spot color” and four-ink “process color” printing techniques while learning to create a t-shirt line. Learn how to prepare, expose and burn screens and register multi-layer images. Use our t-shirt press and exposure unit to apply images to garments and accessories. Become part of the DIY (Do It Yourself) culture and design t-shirts for your local club organizations, church groups, sororities, friends and family or just for yourself.
Tuition: $75 + Materials Fee: $50 = $125 total*

WINTER TERM CLASSES
Silkscreen Sensations
Thursdays, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., February 18 - March 18 (5 classes)
Instructor: Michelle McGraw

Experience the screen-printing sensation that is sweeping the nation—learn all the steps you need to create an emulsion based screen-print. By the end of the course you will have transformed your own photographs or drawings into single or multicolored prints on fabric and/or paper. Spend some time strengthening your skills in Photoshop and Illustrator as part of the transformation process from design to screen-printed art. All skill levels welcome.
Tuition: $75 + Materials Fee: $50 = $125 total*
*Classes may satisfy Act 48 credits, and Pittsburgh Public Schools teachers eligible for tuition discount ($90 total for qualifying PPS teachers).
