Manchester Craftsmen's Guild, a center for arts and learning, is a partner of the Pittsburgh Schools dedicated to the advancement of young people's potential through creativity, communication and mentoring. Youth programs stress that success is based not only on skill and knowledge, but also on attitude and performance. Many of our alumni have gone on to successful careers in the arts, business, communications and other fields. Young people involved in MCG learn to become creative and intellectual risk-takers. Manchester Craftsmen's Guild students have been invited to participate in conferences on leadership, technology and entrepreneurship. Additionally, they have won thousands of dollars in scholarships dedicated to the arts and community involvement.
Most programs are free to Pittsburgh teens and enrollment is simple. After school, transportation via yellow bus is offered from each of Pittsburgh's public high schools at least one day/week. Additionally, students may access transportation tickets for use on public buses. Getting to Manchester Craftsmen's Guild using public transportation is simple. Just hop on the 16D Woods Run route from downtown Pittsburgh. At the conclusion of the day, students ride a yellow bus to downtown Pittsburgh and may use transportation tickets to ride city buses to their various neighborhoods.
